I guess they want to use the "grown-up" cup. We also hold it/fight it, he needs water, sometimes he just wants to hold it and play with it and gets mad when I try to take it away from him. :) Did your other children do the same thing as your baby boy? We have an 8 year old and a 3 year old also. My wife breastfed all three and they never had a bottle. This made the whole sippy cup thing a new experience for them and this one is the same. He really just chews and does no sucking. We really end up giving him water out a big cup and we hold it/fight him while he holds it so he can get some water in his system. Our third child is 6 mos.
